On Monday, 26 October 2020, in the evening at 18:56, in Panevėžio district municipality, Paliūniškio village, on Vabalninko street near No. 21, a Saab 9-5 registered in Great Britain ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Saab (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.49‰ blood alcohol). A 41-year-old passenger of the Saab was drunk (2.23‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
