On Wednesday, 16 December 2020, in the morning at 6:50, in Kaunas, on Draugystės street, at the junction with Ties Pramonės g. 29 street, a BMW 3ER Reihe hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 81-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
