On Thursday, 17 December 2020, in the evening at 17:30, in Kaunas, on Birželio 23-iosios street, at the junction with Savanorių pr., a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Volkswagen Phaeton. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Opel (14 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
