On Friday, 18 December 2020, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Klaipėda, on Pilies street near No. 6, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota and a Hyundai i40. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Toyota, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.73‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
