On Wednesday, 6 January 2021, in the morning at 7:40, in Šiaulių city municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 123), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania R 124 and a Nissan Qashqai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Scania (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
