On Saturday, 9 January 2021, in the evening at 19:57, in Kauno district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 73.90), an Opel Astra Station Wagon ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.68‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
