On Tuesday, 12 January 2021, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 19.50), a DAF hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the DAF (28 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident there was a blizzard, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
