On Wednesday, 13 January 2021, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kazlų Rūdos municipality, on Strazdelio street near No. 2, a BMW 320D ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the BMW (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
