On Tuesday, 9 March 2021, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Varėnos district municipality, Žilinų village, on Mokyklos street near No. 30, a BMW 320D hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (9 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.60‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
