On Friday, 12 March 2021, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Biržų district municipality, Štakirių village, on the Biržai–Anglininkai–Papilys regional road (kilometre 7.53), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene.
