On Friday, 16 April 2021, at night at 2:53, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 20), a BMW 530 XD ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. A 40-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.11‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
