On Sunday, 6 June 2021, at night at around 23:00, in Anykščių district municipality, Mažeikiškio village, on the Burbiškis–Mačionys–Leliūnai regional road (kilometre 6.30), an Audi hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Audi (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.72‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
