On Saturday, 17 July 2021, in the evening at around 20:00, in Šiauliai, on Dainų street near No. 23, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Prius and an Audi 80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Toyota (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
