On Monday, 16 August 2021, in the afternoon at 16:05, in Kaunas, on Islandijos pl. near No. 32, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF registered in Russia, a trailer/semi-trailer > 10 t and a Ford Fiesta. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the DAF (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
