On Sunday, 29 August 2021, in the evening at 22:03, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Pasvalys–Vabalninkas regional road (kilometre 6.60), a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.43‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was dry.
