On Monday, 30 August 2021, in the evening at 22:25, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 29.21), a Volvo C30 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
