On Thursday, 14 October 2021, in the afternoon at 13:42, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 50.90), an Audi A4 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Audi (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.79‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
