On Friday, 3 December 2021, in the morning at around 8:00, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 263.40), a Renault Premium ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Renault (33 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
