On Wednesday, 29 December 2021, in the morning at around 9:00, in Šiauliai, on Gardino street near No. 2, at the junction with Aido street, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 56-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
