On Tuesday, 11 January 2022, in the evening at 19:40, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 44.50), a Scania R500 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Scania (33 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
