On Thursday, 13 January 2022, in the morning at 7:30, in Kaunas, on Šiaurės pr. near No. 44, a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to obey traffic-control signals. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
