On Saturday, 15 January 2022, in the morning at 5:36, in Kretingos district municipality, Kurmaičių village, on Mokyklos street near No. 10, a Seat Altea hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Seat (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.50‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
