On Saturday, 15 January 2022, in the evening at 18:30, in Plungės district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 89.31), a Peugeot 807 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.32‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
