On Wednesday, 26 January 2022, in the evening at 19:10, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 119.70), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 6 and a Mercedes-Benz O 510. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Mazda (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (2.22‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
