On Sunday, 30 January 2022, in the evening at 20:40, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 29.85), a DAF FT XF105 registered in Russia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the DAF (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
