On Sunday, 20 February 2022, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 265), a BMW registered in France ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
