On Monday, 21 February 2022, in the morning at 7:20, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street, at the junction with Taikos pr., an Opel Zafira hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 66-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 72-year-old driver of the Opel (37 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
