On Monday, 28 March 2022, at night at 0:13, in Šiauliai, on Bačiūnų street, at the junction with Lingailių street, an Opel hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the Opel (42 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.64‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
