On Thursday, 31 March 2022, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr. near No. 120, a car hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 19-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of a car (17 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (1.26‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
