On Saturday, 9 April 2022, in the evening at 18:58, in Anykščių district municipality, Čekonių village, on the Radiškis–Anykščiai–Rokiškis national road, an Opel Zafira hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.08‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 32-year-old passenger of the Opel was drunk (1.39‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
