On Saturday, 9 April 2022, in the evening at 18:20, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 255.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Avensis and a Honda CR-V. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Toyota (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (3.17‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
