On Saturday, 16 April 2022, in the evening at 17:26, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 288), an Opel Astra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Opel (22 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.88‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
