On Sunday, 17 April 2022, in the evening at 19:31, in Anykščių district municipality, Kunigiškių I village, on Kunigiškių street near No. 42, a quad bike hit an obstacle. One person died — the 55-year-old driver of a quad bike (was not wearing a helmet). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of a quad bike (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.21‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
