On Thursday, 21 April 2022, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 114), a Volvo XC70 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Volvo (12 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
