On Friday, 22 April 2022, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 35), a Nissan Juke registered in France hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Nissan (42 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
