On Sunday, 15 May 2022, at night at 2:31, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 69), an Audi A6 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk and under the influence of psychoactive substances, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
