On Saturday, 18 June 2022, in the afternoon at 11:45, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 82.55), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz and a Volkswagen Golf Plus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to keep a safe distance. She evaded sobriety testing, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
