On Friday, 15 July 2022, at night at 0:30, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Antalieptė–Zabičiūnai–Vasaknos regional road (kilometre 2), an Opel Astra-G-Caravan hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Opel, who committed other traffic rule violations. He evaded sobriety testing, had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
