On Thursday, 11 August 2022, in the morning at 5:35, in Šilalės district municipality, Prienų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 221), on a bridge, a Mercedes-Benz Classe E hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (4 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.05‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
