On Sunday, 28 August 2022, at night at 4:20, in Klaipėda, on Perkėlos street near No. 8, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FL registered in Ukraine, a trailer/semi-trailer > 10 t and a Mazda registered in United States. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Volvo (12 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
