On Sunday, 28 August 2022, in the afternoon at 13:30, in Molėtų district municipality, on the Ukmergė–Molėtai national road (kilometre 28), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a Saab and a truck. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
