On Sunday, 4 September 2022, at night at 4:39, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Kaišiadorys–Žiežmariai national road (kilometre 6.68), a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.04‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
