On Tuesday, 6 September 2022, in the evening at 17:30, in Kauno city municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 4.99), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Octavia, a Krone SD registered in Latvia, a Mercedes-Benz Actros registered in Latvia and a DAF CF 85.430 registered in Moldova. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Skoda (22 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
