On Wednesday, 14 September 2022, in the evening at 17:33, in Rietavo municipality, Žadvainų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 259.76), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a DAF FT XF 105.460, a Rolfo registered in Poland, a Krone SD registered in Latvia, a Rolfo registered in Poland, a Scania P 340 registered in Poland and a Scania P 340 registered in Poland. One person was injured — the 41-year-old driver of the Scania P 340 (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the DAF (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
