On Tuesday, 20 September 2022, in the evening at 17:17, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 59.15), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Renault Laguna registered in Belarus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (13 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
