On Wednesday, 21 September 2022, at night at around 4:00, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 22.70), a MAN B 45 registered in Estonia hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the MAN (40 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
