On Thursday, 29 September 2022, in the morning at 7:40, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 268), a Volvo FH12 - 4X2T registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volvo (less than a year of driving experience), who fell asleep at the wheel. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
