On Tuesday, 1 November 2022, in the afternoon at 12:10, in Joniškio district municipality, Mikolaičiūnų village, on the Joniškis–Žagarė–Naujoji Akmenė national road (kilometre 2.10), a head-on collision occurred. The accident was caused by the 87-year-old driver of the Ford (27 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober.
