On Sunday, 13 November 2022, in the evening at 20:15, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 253.20), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 316 and a Seat Alhambra. One person was injured — the 57-year-old driver of the Seat (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
