On Friday, 18 November 2022, in the evening at 22:31, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Anglininkai–Papilys regional road (kilometre 0.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 D and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. A 34-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (2.51‰). A 32-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.47‰). A 22-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (0.30‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
